Blue Skullcap

Scutellaria lateriflora, commonly known as Blue skullcap, is a perennial herb renowned for its medicinal uses.

This plant thrives in moist, well-drained soil and prefers partial shade. Although this herb often grows in damper areas, I have found it to grow better in well drain soil, that is also moist, so do ensure the site has both good drainage and maintain consistent moisture, as it benefits from regular watering. It usually reaches a height of 50cm, and has small, blue tubular flowers that from mid-summer to autumn.
