Leaf fennel, is a herbaceous perennial herb that thrives in well-drained, fertile soil and requires full sun for optimal growth. They grow up to 2m tall, with beautiful feathery leaves and distinctive architectural flower and seed heads. This is an attractive bronze, or slightly purple variety, which tends to be slightly less vigorous than the green variety. Their 'umbel' shaped flowers are loved by pollinators and insects such as lacewings which are beneficial predators of aphids.

Leaves can be used fresh in salads, as a garnish, or in cooking. The seeds can be harvested for cooking and their medicinal properties.
