Common Comfrey is a clump forming perennial, which grows to about 80cm tall when flowering. This one is white flowered, and is the wild Comfrey, which is traditionally used medicinally - although other species can be used externally.
Common Comfrey thrives in many soils, but particularly moist well-drained, fertile soils with full sun or part shade and prefers cool to temperate climates. It can spread as a clump and can also self-seed, so care should be taken about where it is planted to avoid it becoming invasive.
