Echinacea (purpurea)

Herbaceous perennial with deep pink flowers. Great for pollinators, as a cut flower & a well regarded medicinal herb. Prefers well drained soil and full sun. In a heavy soil they grow best in a raised bed or if grit is added to the bed. 60-150cm tall. Protect from slugs in early growth. Roots can be harvested for medicinal use after 3 to 4 years of growth and the main crown replanted.
