Gotu Kola

Centella asiatica, commonly known as Gotu Kola or Asiatic pennywort, is a perennial, creeping herbaceous plant with smooth, rounded leaves. Its creeping stems root at the nodes, allowing it to spread across the ground. It grows as a low-lying, creeping herb forming dense mats in moist, shaded areas. It is a tropical/ sub-tropical plant, so should be protected from the frost, but can grow well in temperate climates so long as it is somewhere warm, but shaded and moist. 

It is widely used in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine and increasingly in western herbal medicine.
