Glechoma hederacea, commonly known as ground ivy, is a perennial, creeping aromatic herb with distinctive kidney-shaped, scalloped leaves and small violet-blue flowers. It grows low to the ground with trailing stems that root at the nodes, forming dense mats that can cover large areas. This hardy plant thrives in a variety of conditions, preferring moist, fertile soils and partial to full shade but adaptable to sun and different soil types.

Traditionally, Glechoma hederacea has been used medicinally as an anti-inflammatory, and to treat respiratory ailments.
