Lemon verbena, known for its aromatic leaves and vibrant citrus fragrance, is a versatile herb widely used in culinary dishes and aromatic infusions. It thrives best in well-drained soil with full sun exposure. This is a perennial plant, and prefers warm temperatures. it is drought-tolerant once established, though regular watering promotes healthier growth. It doesn't tolerate wet roots over winter, so works well in very well draining soil or in a pot.
New growth often appears quite late in the Spring, around May, so don't give up on your plant if you haven't seen new growth before that.
Lemon verbena can also be harvested regularly through the growing season and used fresh, or dries and stores well.
