Roman Chamomile is a clump forming perennial, which grows to about 50cm tall when flowering. It has aromatic leaves and white daisy-like flowers which are widely used medicinally for digestive and calming effects.  It is used fairly interchangeably with the annual plant German Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), but is considered to be more bitter.

Roman chamomile thrives in many soils, but particularly moist well-drained, fertile soils with full sun or part shade and prefers cool to temperate climates.
