Sweetgrass is a perennial grass spreading by rhizomes, with a long tradition of use in Indigenous North American medicine and ceremony.
They prefer moist soil and full sun to part-shade, and will gradually spread as a clump. As described in the book 'Braiding Sweetgrass', the plant thrives with some harvesting too!
