Wild Lettuce

Lactuca virosa, commonly known as wild lettuce or bitter lettuce an annual or biennial herbaceous plant which can grow up to 2 meters (6.5 feet) tall and has a stout, hollow stem with milky white latex. The plant produces small yellow flowers arranged in loose clusters at the top of the stem. The latex sap has traditional medicinal uses. 

It tollerates a wide range of growing conditions from full sun to part-shade, and a range of soil types, but thrives in moist, well drained and moderately fertile soil.
